Daniel John Martin figures as one of the most prominent violinists of the French and international Jazz scene.
 
Born in Congleton, not far from Liverpool, his youth was marked by a long sojourn in Africa. He is one of Didier Lockwood’s first students who stated that he stands amongst the top notch players of his generation.
He co-founded the 11tet de violons jazz with which they toured and recorded together.
 
A long-time turned towards jazz-rock and fusion he has since been recognized as a leading figure in the « Parisian gypsy jazz” revival.
