Paris based Daniel John Martin figures as one of the most prominent violinists of the French and international Jazz scene.
Daniel is a central figure of Parisian Gypsy jazz. Violonist and singer, he’s the MC of Gypsy jazz concerts and jams at “Aux petits joueurs”, where you can hear many of the best players in the world in a very (some would say, overly) casual setting. The short list of his invitees would include Angelo Debarre, Patrick Saussois, Adrien Moignard, Sébastien Giniaux, Boulou et Elios Ferré, and Tchavolo Schmitt and Romane.
Born in Congleton, not far from Liverpool, his youth was marked by a long period spent in Africa. He is one of Didier Lockwood’s first students who stated that he stands amongst the top notch players of his generation. He founded the 11tet de violons jazz with which they toured and recorded together.
A long-time turned towards jazz-rock and fusion he has since been recognized as a leading figure in the Parisian gypsy jazz revival.
Be-it in one of his ensembles playing his compositions or alongside other great soloists, sharing his passion for jazz standards, you will enjoy a great moment of music!
